Setting up JS8 for MSG handling.

Did some more work on the procedures with JS8.Regards VK5CZ ..
Set up for JS8CALL software for passing scores and comms traffic. Once software and interfacing to a radio is working. Go to Settings box and the General tab in the first page in settings. Place your current locator grid Square for the stage or position you will be operating from. This may have been previously set to your home location. Eg PF96HB35. In station INFO box put WICEN Op: Your Callsign. In Station Status box put WICEN Your call. In saved message box put @VK5WIE You callsign. Check point call signs can be set for an event as stage 02 eg START STT02, SOS checkpoint 02 as SOS02, STOP stage checkpoint as STP02. JS8CALL will recognise these aliases as callsigns and communicate. The reason to have your personal call sign in the Status box and Saved message box is so you can send it out between messages to identify your station in a WICEN event. No different to identifying with voice during an event along with your stage identifier plus personal call sign.
 When all three stages are set up in field and working first thing is to send out a HB+ACK from your station to make sure the other stage callsigns are hearing each other. You should get a reply and SNR report and a star will appear alongside the heard stations in your Heard Box on right hand side of your software. On air traffic will start from Stage start obviously STT02. Once the event is active in your stage STT02 should forward traffic to SOS02 first then SOS02 should forward to STP02 as the event progress through the stage. Once forwarding starts make sure to highlight the call sign of the station you are forwarding to or receiving a message from. In message box always start you message with greater than symbol then forward slash. [EG] >/ stage 2 open / ENTER.

Sending scores in groups of 6 should give STT02 a 15 minute window for forwarding scores to allow SOS02 to ACK from STT02 then forward scores on from SOS02 to STP02 who will STP02:SOS02 ACK time stamp.
