WICEN SA News for 4th October 2026.
This transcript and the attached audio file are from the WICEN SA news segment broadcast on the VK5 Sunday broadcast on 4th October 2026.

Hi this is Adam VK5GA for WICEN South Australia.

Hope everybody is enjoying the long weekend away from the big smoke and for those that have kids or grandkids hope you are enjoying the school holidays.

Tonight Sunday 4th October at 8pm local time the WICEN SA monthly net will be conducted on the Adelaide linked repeaters, we hope to hear a good turn out of check-ins from members and newcomers to the amateur radio hobby.

We will be discussing anything of interest in radio communications, also what is coming up on the WICEN SA calendar of events.

The Adelaide Rally is coming up in just under two weeks' time and I'm still looking for more volunteers as there are 30 stages over this 3-day event on 16th, 17th & 18th October, even if you can only spare one day it would help immensely in supporting this big event.

To volunteer please contact me directly via rally@sa.wicen.org.au and I'll get back to you as soon as I can to find a spot on one of the rally stages.

Upcoming events calendar
