TEST DAY with the 4 Amigos

[VK5MCH]

Great way to spend a day with mates. What looked like being a rainy day turned out to be pretty good.

Thanks to Paul, Tom and Graham for coming along.

Getting into Texas on 10 metres with 40 watts on a linked dipole at 5/7 was a nice surprise.

I was invited to join Mick VK5MCH, Tom VK5TOM and Paul VK5PH at Thornden Park where we had egg and bacon roll and set up Mick IC7300 with squid pole and dipole. Several AX contacts including a great contact to the USA (Texas). Mick was running 40w.
The concept is that we maybe able make this a semi regular event that creates a great outing amongst Amateurs and families from all over. It has been suggested we could have a Antenna challenge day to see whose design performs the best. So stay tuned as the concept develops. Graham VK5GM
